The NAHB Research Center headquarters and full-service product testing and
certification laboratory are located in a suburb of Washington, D.C., but the
staff of the Research Center travels around the nation (and around the world,
at times) to complete our research objectives.

We have expanded the facilities on our Upper Marlboro, Md. campus with the
addition of a 42,000-square foot, state-of-the-art testing laboratory and
market research facility. Completed in June 2007, this new building houses all
of our current product certification and structural testing capabilities and
much of our market research activities. We have added new and expanded testing
capabilities as well – find out more by

The NAHB Research Center also has the
NAHB National Research Home Park as part of its assets. The home park
consists of research homes and home sites integrated into a community near our
headquarters. As a licensed builder in the state of Maryland, we are able to
construct research homes, which we test for a year before selling, in that
community to fulfill the research objectives of our clients. The most recent
research home project built in the home park was our MADE (Marketable,
Affordable, Durable, Entry-level) Homes project – one of the MADE Homes was
designated the "LifeWise" home for its aging-in-place features.
