Design, Fabrication, and Installation of Engineered Panelized Walls: Two Case
Studies
Two panelized wall systems are evaluated in terms of process of design,
fabrication, and installation at two case study sites in high wind and
earthquake-prone regions of the United States. In addition, portions of walls
constructed with each panelized system are tested in the laboratory with
respect to system resistance to lateral or in-plane shear (racking) loads from
wind and seismic forces. The reports provide invaluable insights to the
application advantages and issues related to the continued adoption and
expansion of panelized wall systems in residential and light commercial
construction.
