Robert Harris
Director, Military Housing

Robert Harris serves as the Director of Military Housing and is responsible for contracts with Department of Defense agencies to support their housing programs and specialized studies. Robert joined the Research Center in 2004. Prior to coming to the Research Center he had 25 years experience in design, construction and military service having spent 10 years on active duty as a Navy Civil Engineer Corps Officer. In his previous private sector positions Harris worked with developers and builders on military housing projects across the U.S. and for all branches of the service. He currently holds the rank of Captain in the Navy Civil Engineer Corps (Reserves) and is assigned as the Deputy Director for Theater Contingency Engineering Management at Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), Miami Florida. He has a Bachelor of Architecture from the Cooper Union in New York City and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso. He is a registered Architect in Maryland and Minnesota, a LEED-AP accredited professional and a Certified Facility Manager (CFM).
