Ed Hudson
Director, Market Research

Ed Hudson is director of the Market Research Division of the NAHB Research Center. Under his supervision, a staff of 12 market research professional conducts a wide array of both qualitative and quantitative research supporting the commercialization of new building products. In 2004, Hudson co-authored the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-funded publication, The Diffusion of Innovation in the Residential Building Industry, which is the most authoritative study on how and why new ideas and technologies penetrate the home building industry. He is currently working on follow-on studies to this line of research.

As part of the NAHB Research Center's cadre of quantitative research programs, Hudson's division produces the syndicated Annual Builder and Consumer Practices Reports, which provide detailed demand data for purchases of building materials in the new home construction and remodeling sectors.

Hudson is a member of the Product Development Management Association (PDMA) and he holds an MBA from George Mason University and a B.S. in Business Administration from Fairmont State College.
