NAHB Research Center Opening New State-of-the-Art Product Testing Laboratory
and Research Facility in Maryland
Leading Product Testing, Research, and Certification Facility for Residential
Construction Expanding; Advancing Quality and Technology Innovation in Home
Building and Building Products
WHAT:
The NAHB Research Center, the research arm of the National Association of Home
Builders (NAHB) will join NAHB and local political leaders in welcoming the
future of housing technology research with the ribbon cutting and grand opening
of its new, state-of-the-art laboratory testing and market research facility in
Upper Marlboro, Md. The two-story, 42,000-square foot laboratory will be used
to test the durability and code compliance of building products used in new
home construction, conduct vital market research for building product
manufacturers, and quality assurance testing— all with the goal of improving
the innovation, quality, and performance of American homes.
The Research Center will open its doors with guided tours and full-scale
demonstrations of the facility’s testing capabilities – providing a public view
of how home building products are independently tested to ensure they perform
to code and meet standards, benefiting consumers.
